Sparky the Dog was a popular hoax character following the release of Five Nights at Freddy's. He was an animatronic dog who was believed to sometimes appear peeking through the "employees only" door in the Backstage. He later appears in the film adaptation as an easter egg.

Appearance

Hoax

Sparky the Dog was a one-armed animatronic dog with brown fur and blue overalls. He have two black ears and he had blue overalls with golden buttons and withering on his right leg that revealed bare endoskeleton, similar to Foxy. This was revealed in an official anniversary video.

Movie

Sparky the Dog was an animatronic dog with light brown fur and pale fur on stomach. He has two black ears, brown eyes and black dots on the nose. He has collar with red ribbon and golden bone.

History

Hoax

In the early days of the game's lifespan, someone began to spread rumors about a hidden sixth animatronic named "Sparky the Dog". Sure enough, screenshots began to crop up on Tumblr. Reportedly, Sparky the one-armed dog was non-violent and would never attack the player, only appearing occasionally in the Backstage doorway. However, it was eventually revealed as a hoax by his creators, Tumblr users kodiabear and nguyen, with all of the screenshots being Photoshopped. Basically, this dog animatronic does not exist. He is made up, but was well edited in the image below. You can clearly see that the creator used Freddy’s body, and most likely Foxy’s exposed foot and hand. He also ended up appearing in an anniversary video called "7 Years Of FNaF's Amazing Fanbase" back in 2021. that was for long the last we heard or seen from Sparky, thats where the Sparky era ended. However, he made a surprise appearance in the Five Nights at Freddy’s Movie. Ironically enough, this appearance took place back stage, where the hoax originally began. In October 2023, the Five Nights at Freddy's movie released and in the Parts & Service room, a Sparky the Dog suit could be seen laying on the ground. And there is a diner in the film named "Sparky's Diner".

Movie

Sparky appears as a deactivated animatronic in the Parts & Service room, Hank's body was stuffed inside of the suit. Sparky made his cameo appearance in the backstage of the abandoned Pizzeria. While not active like the other animatronics, he was visibly shown only as broken scrap parts and possibly made to be springlock suit. His body is made up of parts from the other animatronics in the movie.
