Story[]

Chapter 1[]

Following the events of Security Breach, The Mimic finds a way to contact Cassie, pretending to be Gregory and asking her to come save him. While her response isn't shown, she arrives at the Pizzaplex during the day, climbing in through a hole in the wall above the main entrance.

Cassie calls out for Gregory, wondering where he is. She notices something near the elevators to the lobby, and decides to get up there to see if she can find him. Cassie collects a flashlight from a deactivated STAFF bot, and travels through the remains of Glam Gifts to get up there. On the way, a deactivated S.T.A.F.F. bot comes to live, attempting to alert something, before deactivating again.

After leaving Glam Gifts, something bangs on the doors to Superstar Daycare. Cassie explores around near the elevators to the Atrium, and finds a Roxy Talky, with "Gregory's" voice coming from it. She collects it, and briefly communicates with 'Gregory'. She then enters the broken elevator, taking a turn and going through a maintenance path. As she reaches the ladder, the elevator itself falls right behind her, blocking the way back. Rarely, Cassie can comment on this.

Endings[]

This ending is achieved by just going through the events of the game normally

During The Mimic's chase sequence Cassie will enter the Elevator as Gregory explains how he never sent her a message to save him when the audio glitches and Gregory's deminer seems to change has the elevator is dropped down and crashes.

In either version of The Mimic's chase sequence, there is a Freddy cutout visible in a split path. Take this path, and put on the mask in front of it. A small scene will play, featuring Gregory, Vanny, and Glamrock Helpy on the hill from the base game's Redeemed Vanny ending, eating ice cream. The Mimic, using Gregory's voice, repeats one of his lines from earlier in the game, followed by Cassie's panicked breathing.

Based on the ending's internal name, and only being accessible by using the V.A.N.N.I. mask, it is implied that this is a fantasy world created by Cassie.

Unlike the previous endings, achieving the Scooper ending requires setup in the previous chapters; Chapters 1, 3, 5, and 7. Four secret cameras can be found on camera systems throughout the chapters, with these being the first camera system in Chapter 1, a camera system near the end of the catwalks in Chapter 3, the camera system to unlock Child Node 4 in Chapter 5, and the cameras next to the bowling alley lanes in Chapter 7.

All four of these can only be found using the zoom feature, and zooming the camera map out all the way. They feature a different icon from the normal cameras, and appear to be out of bounds. Upon clicking on them, you'll see a door in the ending sequence being opened. NOTE: Opening the doors doesn't save until you get another autosave later on in the chapter!

Upon opening all four doors, return to The Mimic's chase sequence. The cutscene will appear slightly modified, with The Mimic now wearing a stitched together hybrid of four costumes: An elephant, a bird, a lion, and an unknown fourth costume. The Mimic chase goes exactly as it normally does, but at the end, the path to the elevator is blocked; A separate path opens up, allowing access to a new room. Enter the room, and press the button.

Upon doing so, a cutscene triggers. Cassie walks up to the glass, and The Mimic bangs against it. A claw-like version of The Scooper appears, and grabs The Mimic, dragging it away; Fog appears in the room, preventing the player from seeing what's happening. A few moments later, The Mimic is shown motionless, presumably destroyed by The Scooper. The credits roll.

Trivia[]

  • The DLC's codename is Chica Chowda, despite Roxanne being a larger focus.
    • Between this, and Glamrock Chica being in the DLC's original teaser, it is implied that Ruin was originally supposed to focus on Chica.
      • Notably, in this teaser, Cassie also had blonde hair, similar to Susie. This was changed in the final.
    • The codename was later turned into an Easter Egg, appearing on a poster.
  • The name of the Brazil ending might be a reference to the movie Brazil from 1985 with what happens in the ending being similar to the ending of the movie

Known glitches[]

Note: Not all bugs may be listed here, be it due to a lack of documentation, or other reasons.

  • V.A.N.N.I. warp failure
    • Brief description: When putting on the mask, the V.A.N.N.I. mask may sometimes fail to warp Cassie, resulting in her being in the wrong version of the map. Putting on the mask again will perform a warp as though you were in the correct map, either teleporting Cassie into the sky or dropping her through the floor.
    • Current status: Unpatched
    • Category: Teleportation, Softlock (Depending on location)
    • Affected platforms: All
  • V.A.N.N.I. clip
    • Brief description: Equipping the V.A.N.N.I. mask in certain areas allows Cassie to clip through certain objects, or sometimes the floor. Doing this in certain areas allows you to get out of bounds. Note that, because death planes are present underneath the map, out-of-bounds movement is limited to the level it was performed on.
    • Current status: Unpatched
    • Category: Out-of-Bounds (Depending on location)
    • Affected platforms: All

Unused/Scrapped content[]

The following information has been hidden. To view it, click the button below.

Reason: Expansive section

Toggle Display

The following has currently been found as unused or scrapped content by dataminers.

M.X.E.S. original design

In the files for Ruin, a leftover model exists for what is likely M.X.E.S. This design is a skeletal rabbit, similar to the Epitome animatronics from the Popgoes series, and has a glowing white core. This model also has unused animations for banging on something.

Mascot costume 2

Alongside mascot costumes 1 and 3, which are used as props in The Mimic's chase, and mascot costume 4, which The Mimic wears in the Scooper ending, is a fourth mascot costume resembling a lion. This model is never seen ingame, though it was the primary basis for mascot 4. This costume closely resembles a lion, and has been stitched back together. It also has a similar appearance to The Anomaly, like the other costumes.

Unused loading screens

Although the final game only has one loading screen, the filename for the loading screen suggests each chapter was planned to have it's own screen. The one used in the final game is named Loadingscreen_Ch1

Early AR collectibles

In the files, four unused icons for AR collectibles can be found. These are prototype versions of the AR plushies of the core four Glamrock animatronics, and can be seen below.

Unused maps

In the files, many unused maps are left over. Many of these are earlier versions of the final game's maps; Not every map will be included. Most of these areas lack textures.

Early Salon

At this time, the door was present, but wasn't fit into the doorway. A developer note mentioning a Diffuser Attachment is mentioned, though no such object made it into the final version.

For unknown reasons, Gregory's model is on this map, missing the textures for his skin.

Early Roxy Raceway P1

The playable area is marked out with untextured walls, leaving a more maze-like feel than the original game. Markers for the RW/AR walls are already in place, as well as dev notes for the camera colors, markers for the Go-Kart jumpscare and trigger, breakable walls, and an unused room featuring an AR collectible

Early Sinkhole

This is an early version of the map for all of the sinkhole; Various dev notes can be found, one of which "Something Cool That Maybe Foreshadows Carnival (Pending JTop's Thoughts)", potentially the Five Nights at Freddy's: Balloon Circus game mentioned in Funko merch.

Another dev note mentions a cinematic cutscene of Cassie falling through the stairs, which was entirely scrapped. There are also dev notes for walls The Mimic would crash through, presumably to get to Cassie faster, though nothing like this is found in the final.

A second version of this map is also found. This version features multiple Gregory models, and in the place of The Mimic's cutscene, a stage can be found. This state includes Freddy Fazbear, Bonnie, and Chica using their VR models; However, these are possibly placeholders for the Rockstar Animatronics instead. A long corridor for a chase sequence is present.

Test map

An unused test map is present, featuring unused data for a Glitch object that needs to be fixed, as well as a gift box containing a Party Pass. Holding E to fix the glitch takes you to a win screen for the cut Survival Mode.

The win screen mentions the amount of collectibles and 'rare night codes' collected, and the amount of spirits rescued. Neither night codes nor spirits are present in the original Survival Mode, which implies this mode was still under development alongside the Ruin DLC.

Additionally, the glitch object is likely a leftover from an earlier point in the game's development, as lighting maps labeled Glitched and NonGlitched were left in the files. Both of these only have data for one map, MAP_01, and are separate from the final game's lighting maps, which are both under the NonAR and LightingMasters folders.

Ending 4

The game's code features data for four different endings, despite only three being accessible in the final game. The fourth ending's name was removed, so what it was is unknown, though it was likely linked to the Chica's Feeding Frenzy arcade machine and repairing Glamrock Chica's voice box.
